Wayne Deal has a keen understanding of the important role county organizations play in improving the community---Deal was the Nash County Manager for nine years.

He grew up in the town of Pinetops, and earned his bachelor's degree in business from East Carolina University. In addition, he completed several courses through the Institute of Government at Chapel Hill. He also served as the Assistant County Manager for Edgecombe County.

After retiring from his position of Nash County Manager in 2001, Deal turned his attention to other endeavors, such as his love for the outdoors and travel. He is an active member at First United Methodist Church and enjoys volunteer activities and missions.
