Nash Health Care maintains an active schedule of educational classes and seminars across a wide range of topics designed to assist the community in making positive health choices. To learn more about any event listed here please call the number listed with that event, call 888-627-6274 or click on the contact us tab and submit the request form.

Educational Classes

  • "Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD," a free community educational program, will be presented by Kelli M. Byrd, MSW, a child psychologist, on Feb. 21  from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the Nash Health Care auditorium. Registration is required. To register, please call 962-8891.
  • Free Surgical Weight Loss Education Classes are offered to those interested in weight loss surgery and is your first step for entry into our program. Classes will be held Feb. 7, Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. Call the Nash Surgical Weight Loss Center at 252-962-6503 for details.
  • Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Outpatient Program (CROP) is a state-regulated, medically supervised and EKG-monitored program for individuals with cardiovascular and pulmonary-related complications. There is a fee associated with this event. Call 962-3468 for more details.
  • Breastfeeding Class - Do you have questions about breastfeeding? Our breastfeeding classes are offered on an individual basis to give you personalized attention so that you can have the knowledge that you need to get your breastfeeding experience off to a great start. Classes are 1 hour long and include an educational video, as well as time for our certified lactation consultant to answer any questions that you have. There is no charge for this service.   • NEW!   B.R.A.S --Breast Recovery And Support BRAS will have a special Valentine's Day educational program. For details,click here.
  •   Diabetes Support Group  Will meet Feb. 21  from 6:30 to 7:30 at Nash General Hospital in Conference Room 2. For information, call 962-8854..
  • Tiny Heartbeats, a pregnancy loss support group will meet Feb.13 at 6:30 p.m.  For more information, call 962-8222.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets Fridays and Sundays at Coastal Plain Hospital from 6 to 7 p.m. Call 962-5000 for more information.
  • Narcotics Anonymous meets Saturdays at Coastal Plain Hospital. For information, call 962-5000.
  • Better Breather’s Club - This club meets at the HealthFirst Wellness Center the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. For information, call 962-3468.
  • Healthy Hearts Support Group - This group meets at the HealthFirst Wellness Center the first Wednesday  of each month at 11:30 a.m. For information, call 962-3468.
  • Surgical Weight Loss Support Group, for those who have had or who are considering bariatric [weight loss] surgery, will meet Feb. 6 at Nash Health Care's Mayo Surgery Pavilion at 6 p.m. For more information, call 962-6503.
  • The Emily Ellis Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group  will meet every  Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center.
