Harden Named Fellow of Hospital Medicine
06/21/2010
Dr. William Harden, a member of the Nash Health Care Medical Staff, was recently named a Fellow of Hospital Medicine (FHM) by the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). Harden is a hospitalist with Eagle Hospital Group.
To become a Fellow, physicians must have completed five years as a practicing hospitalist, earned endorsement by SHM members, and demonstrated teamwork, leadership and quality improvement in his/her profession. A hospitalist is a physician who treats patients while they are in the hospital, managing all aspects of patient care and working closely with the patient's primary care physician and specialists.
"Dr. Harden has done an outstanding job serving our patients as a hospitalist and medical director of Eagle Hospitalist Physicians," said Nash Health Care's Chief Medical Officer, Rick Guarino, MD.
The Society of Hospital Medicine is the nation's largest organization representing hospitalists with a membership of 10,000 hospitalists. Its mission is "to promote the highest quality care for hospitalized patients as well as provide opportunities to support hospitalists."
