Five miles may not seem like very far, but each step represented Nash Health Care employees going the distance to provide education, research and prevention of Nash County's number one killer---heart disease.

Nash Health Care employees, through a variety of fund-raising events and activities, raised a staggering $33,470 for the American Heart Walk. Stephanie Aycock, of the materials management department, was instrumental in helping the Nash team meet its goal.

Held annually, the five-mile Heart Walk event provides money for the American Heart Association to be used for research and education. The Heart Walk events, where participants raise money through sponsors for each mile walked, also provide a chance to recognize those who are heart attack and stroke survivors.

Nash Health Care earned special recognition as the top fund-raising company for the annual American Heart Walk. Some of the team Nash participants are pictured above.
