Nurses Honored at Nash Health Care

Florence Nightingale, nursing pioneer, claimed that nursing was not just an art, but  proclaimed it ‘the finest of the arts.' At Nash Health Care, not just the science, but the art of nursing was celebrated during Nurses' Week 2009.  Each year, America's 2.9 million registered nurses celebration National nurses Week on May 6-12. May 12 is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is credited with developing the nursing profession. The theme for Nurses' Week 2009 was: Nurses: Building a healthier America.

As a part of these celebrations, several health care workers were honored for nursing leadership: Sharon Adams was selected as Nurse of the Year, Dorothy Mills was selected as Nursing Assistant of the Year, and Marlene Everette was named Nurse Leader of the Year. In addition, Dr. Kim Johnson received a special recognition for being honored as a Friend of Nursing.
