Allen Meadows was recently named senior vice-president of strategy and business development at Nash Health Care Systems, where he will be responsible for implementing long-range strategic plans designed to continue to meet the area’s future health care needs.

“We’re very pleased to have Allen join us. He brings us over 25 years of strategic business development experience and a strong commitment to the mission of community hospitals,” said Rick Toomey, DHA, president of Nash Health Care Systems.

Prior to joining Nash, Meadows worked nine years as the Corporate Vice President of Business Development at the 632-bed Forrest General Hospital health system in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He also worked with Healthcare Corporation of America (HCA)’s Georgia Division in Atlanta as regional director of business development, where he dealt extensively with managed care negotiations, physician acquisition and recruitment. He also worked for Charter Medical Corporation, overseeing their medical-surgical business development operations in the Houston, Los Angeles, and Atlanta markets.

Meadows is originally from Richlands, Virginia and graduated from Montreat College in North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN before going on to earn his master’s degree in communications at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

Meadows also holds a master in health care administration from the University of LaVerne in LaVerne, CA, and is a board certified Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE). He has also been extensively involved in civic organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, the Rotary Club and the United Way.

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve the greater Rocky Mount community and to continue the Nash tradition of providing quality health care services in a caring, efficient and financially-sound manner,” said Meadows.

He resides in Rocky Mount with his wife Sally who is a community college respiratory therapy instructor. They’re members of the Presbyterian Church-USA.
