Harriet Buss, MSN, was recently named chief nursing officer at Nash Health Care Systems. Buss has served Nash Health Care Systems in several different roles over the course of her 22-year tenure with the organization.

“We are confident that Harriett will continue to take Nursing Services and the System to exceptional levels of patient delivery, care and safety,” said Rick Toomey, DHA, president of Nash Health Care Systems.

Buss has served the hospital as a staff nurse on the coronary care unit, staff development coordinator and most recently, as the interim chief nursing officer. She earned her master’s degree in health care administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and received her BSN from the Medical College of Virginia.

She retired from the Army Nurse Corps, US Army Reserve with the rank of Colonel. She and her husband, Allan, have one daughter, Maria.
