About Us Minimize

Thank you for choosing The Nash Joint Replacement Center to help restore you to a higher quality of living with your new prosthetic joint.

Annually, more than 700,000 people undergo total joint replacement surgery each year. Primary candidates are individuals with chronic joint pain from arthritis that interferes with daily activities, walking, exercise, leisure, recreation, and work. The surgery aims to relieve pain, restore your independence and return you to work and other daily activities.

The Nash Joint Replacement Center is unique. It is a dedicated center within the hospital. Patients have their surgery on Monday or Tuesday and typically return home after a 3-night stay in the hospital.

Features of the Nash Joint Replacement Center include:

  • Nurses, therapists and patient care technicians who specialize in the care of joint patients
  • All private rooms
  • Emphasis on group activities as well as individual care
  • Family and friends educated to participate as “coaches” in the recovery process
  • Group lunches with patients, coaches and staff
  • A Joint Care Coordinator who coordinates all pre-operative and discharge planning
  • A comprehensive patient guide to follow from 4 to 6 weeks pre-op until 3 months post-op and beyond
  • Coordinated after-care program
  • Quarterly reunion luncheons for former patients and coaches
  • Newsletters to update patients with new information about arthritis and joint care
  • Periodic public education seminars about hip and knee pain

Our Philosophy Statement Minimize

The Nash Joint Replacement Center is defined not by a building or a wing of the hospital. Our center is a service consisting of a passionate and highly-skilled health care team devoted to providing remarkable services for our joint replacement patients.  Our philosophy of care encompasses Empowerment, Expertise and Effectiveness.

Empowerment

Patients and their coaches are considered team members. We value their input and aspire to meet their individual goals. Patients are actively engaged in their plan of care and we will respond to their needs immediately.  Staff is expected to be self-motivated, serve as effective team members and be positive influences on every patient.  Empowerment is critical in establishing a distinctive attitude of customer service.

Expertise

We will provide high quality care in an inviting environment.  Each member of our team will possess the professional skills and experience to meet the service needs of our patients. Our expertise must include the ability to listen, be compassionate and provide superior patient and family education. We will treat everyone with respect and dignity.

Effectiveness

Our desire is for patients to meet their physical and functional goals. We track outcomes to measure quality and program efficiency. We have a high regard for patient and employee satisfaction and have processes in place to ensure we are meeting and exceeding expectations.  We welcome feedback and will use it for performance improvement.

Every team member will embrace this philosophy. We realize that joint replacement surgery is an elective surgery and patients can choose among many providers. We want to be the center of choice and recognized leader in our community and surrounding areas.
