Surgical Candidate Process Minimize

Each surgical candidate begins their journey by attending an educational class. Each candidate is only required to attend one class. These classes are held every Tuesday morning. The class is designed to give candidates information about the types of surgical weight loss procedures, the risks involved, and what to expect throughout the process. It is also during this time that each candidate will have a one on one assessment by the program’s physician assistant as well as receive a comprehensive guidebook to help them on their journey.

Candidates will then begin to go through a series of evaluations to make sure they are medically and psychologically ready for surgery. These evaluations will be scheduled by our program’s administrative assistant.

Once the required evaluations are complete and insurance has approved the procedure, the candidate will be placed on the surgery schedule and a preoperative visit will be scheduled. This visit will take place no more than 2 weeks prior to your scheduled surgery
